There's a new Bard in town. Well his is neither new, nor "in town". But is close enough to get out of the city and small venues and do some get out with a great new company. The Clarita Shakespeare Festival has a new home in Towsley Canyon Park, located just over hill, up the 5 Freeway at the gateway to Santa Clarita. It is an easy 15 minute commute from the valley and about 30 minutes from downtown.

Though the Shakespeare in the Park series was actually founded about 20 years ago, Santa Clarita Shakespeare Festival (SCSF) is a new company continuing the tradition and serving the North LA County area. Working with the local city, SCSF is working to build an Arts and Event Park to house a full summer theatre festival.

This year's production is AS YOU LIKE IT, directed by Kelly Boczek-Petrie & Mark Petrie.

Opening July 9th and running Saturdays & Sundays through July 24th. All performances begin at 7:30 pm. Audiences are encouraged to bring a blanket or chairs & dinner and come out early for a picnic.
Snacks and Wine will be available at the perfromances.
