It’s Good 2 Be Crazy is a new play opening in Los Angeles at the Hudson Guild on Theater Row on July 8th, 2011. It is a dramatic comedy launching the career of a talented, young female playwright in Los Angeles, Joanclair Richter.

It’s Good 2 Be Crazy is a slice of life view into the world of Merryl and Joel, a 20-something couple who find their relationship challenged when he offers to support them both so she can pursue her musical ambitions. However, when Doug, a big-time music producer and family friend, enters the picture, Merryl and Joel’s strained relationship is catapulted into crisis.

The play speaks directly to Joanclair’s peers, an audience of young adults who can change the world:

It supports the work of talented new actors and aspiring female playwrights in Los Angeles

Critically recognized, It’s Good 2 Be Crazy is a finalist in the Eventide Arts Competition and for the Kaplan Prize in Chatham, MA.

• Lynne Moses, the director, is best known for the hit comedy Paging Dr Chutzpah, which opened to great reviews and sold out performances at the Sidewalk Studio Theater in Toluca Lake.

• Lindsay Seim stars as Merryl whose credits include the feature film, California Dreamin’ and the play Salsa Saved the Girls, for which she received an Ovation Award nomination.

• Nick Warnock, a co-star in Grey’s Anatomy and House, plays Joel.

• Max Decker, who starred in All My Children and a Broadway play, Take Me Out, plays Doug.
